Café Myriad
Originally, this project was focused on a more narrow
definition of adventure. Hitting
the trails, tackling the whitewater, etc. This
restaurant convinced us that there can also be adventure beyond the feet.
Café Myriad is adventure of the taste buds!
Café Myriad features “fusion” cuisine, blending
Oriental, Indian, Polynesian and Alaskan flavor for dishes with radically unique
results. This is also an internet
café, so patrons who request a table with a computer terminal are able to log
on and check email or surf the web while enjoying the food. The prices are very reasonable- we paid $30 for two
entrees and a side dish. They are
able to cater to both vegetarians and omnivores alike.
The wait staff was very friendly and took time to chat with us about the
place and attractions in Juneau. We
had expected the place to be much more crowded, but our server told us that
since most visitors to Juneau come via cruise ship, they are so well fed on
board that they rarely come into the restaurants.
Lunch tends to be the busiest time of day.
To find the Café Myriad from the
airport, turn right on Egan Highway and head into downtown Juneau.
Make a left on Main Street. Turn
right on Fourth Avenue and drive past the State Capital Building.
Make a right on Seward. Café
Myriad is on the right near the intersection of Third and Seward.
