Granite Creek Campground
Wow! We camped
here in the fall and just fell in love with this campground.
Sitting by the creek side next to a roaring fire taking in views of
multi-colored hillsides with your arm around the one you love … does life get
any better than this? There are 20
campsites here, with both toilets and fresh water.
If you are interested in prospecting for gold, this is a great place to
take a break. Opportunity awaits in
the morning in just about every direction.
Granite Creek Campground is south of Anchorage on the
Seward Highway. After crossing
Pete’s Creek, look for signs on the left side of the Seward Highway announcing
Granite Creek Campground.
The sites are well maintained and each one features a
picnic table, fire pit, and clear level area to pitch your tent or park your RV.
As is the case with most public campgrounds in Alaska, you are permitted
to gather dead wood for a fire.
