About the Authors Joann Kittleson (a.k.a. Claimjumper) is a transplant from Bellingham, Washington. Her passion for adventure drew her to the great out of doors in the Pacific Northwest. She has spent much time hiking Mount Baker, the Cascades and the Olympic mountains. Joann came to Alaska in 1996 to assist in developing a fiber-optic telecommunications system between Anchorage and Fairbanks. In 1998 she met up with Adventureman and enticed him to join her in exploring Alaska. She decided to make Alaska her permanent home after discovering all that this great land has to offer. Joann is 62 years young.
The romance continues as this wife and husband team continue to explore and
write about their wonderful and amazing adventures in Alaska.

Nicholas
Kittleson (a.k.a. Adventureman) was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. For
most of his life he considered himself a city boy, living just a half an hour
drive from the "real Alaska." Although there would be
adventure opportunities to share with friends and relatives visiting from the
"lower 48" from time to time, he did not make a concerted effort to
explore Alaska until meeting Claimjumper.
Nicholas is 34 years old.
